Accessibility Statement

Malahide Credit Union is committed to making our website and online services accessible and easy to use for everyone, including people with disabilities.

Our commitment

We are working to improve accessibility across our website, with the aim of meeting Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2.

We recognise our responsibilities under the European Accessibility Act and the European Union (Accessibility Requirements of Products and Services) Regulations 2023.

Current accessibility position

Our website has undergone an accessibility review involving automated checks and manual assessment. The review identified positive features, including labelled public forms, a clear heading structure and a working “Skip to content” link.

It also identified areas requiring improvement. We do not currently claim full conformance with WCAG Level AA.

Known limitations and improvements

We are addressing the following findings:

  • Colour contrast: Some text and interface elements have insufficient contrast against their backgrounds. We are reviewing shared website styles and individual pages to improve readability.
  • Homepage promotional popup: The popup identified in the review has been removed. This change is awaiting follow-up verification.
  • Online banking: The review identified restrictions on zoom and a missing page-language setting within the third-party online banking platform. These findings require follow-up with the platform provider.

Ongoing review

We are working through the findings, prioritising issues that create the greatest barriers to access. Changes will be checked through automated accessibility testing and manual review.

We will update this statement as improvements are verified and further issues are identified.
